Kaolin is a special extract from clay, which has been used for thousands of years in facial applications and masks. In fact, it has even been eaten in the past, due to its high mineral content, particularly silica and aluminium oxide.
These two minerals can have significant benefits for the skin, although they are not intended to be used regularly. As well as deeply cleansing the skin by drawing out dirt and grime, Kaolin is effective at healing blemishes and acne, and also increases localized circulation, which helps to soothe inflamed or irritated skin.
In our face mask, we use a special kaolin extracted from the foothills of New Zealand's Southern Alps. It is safe for use on all skin types, even sensitive skin.
